Looking Back on the June 24th Extra Rehearsal

It was REALLY HOT in Jeff-Houston tonite but the troops worked hard and did rep after rep after rep to be ready for Philly – and the big show on Sunday with Westminster. Director Joe was encouraging despite the heat and the men reacted with great cooperation and made fantastic music.

There was a successful Class of Ten bandana check.

Immediate Past President, Brad Jones, alerted the members to look for an email about the Society policy on hosting and working with youth. Everyone was encouraged to read it carefully before this weekend’s show and before International.

Announcements included many details for the show such as a need for riser crews, parking and chorus schedules, uniform review and instruction, bus details for Westminster. President Newton announced that we have a signed contract for our show at Carnegie Hall.

He also reported that FOUR FROM THE HEART has contributed $300 to the chapter which was a fee they were given for a gig of singing for a couple’s anniversary. FOUR FROM THE HEART is a quartet of Harmonizers coordinated by Bruce Lauther, who is the lead singer. You never know for sure who the other four parts might be – for this one it was Vince Cazenas, Ken Fess and Austin Cotton. About 20 guys have helped fill gigs for this quartet. Way to go guys. And thanks for representing us all over the area.

Until next time – editorjack!

(This message is prepared for your review if you were there, for your information if you had to miss, and as a historical record of the great things going on each week at an Alexandria Harmonizer Chapter meeting. —Ye Ed.)
