Looking Back on Dec. 23rd and 30th Chapter Meetings
(This message is prepared for your review if you were there, for your information if you had to miss, and as a historical record of the great things going on each week at an Alexandria Harmonizer Chapter meeting. —Ye Ed.)
A nice crowd of guys assembled on Dec. 23rd to sing carols at Alexandria Hospital. Bob Blair brought the supply of Santa hats for us to wear as we sang.
On Dec. 30th, Will conducted the warm up session for the smaller that normal chorus. Lots of guys out of town and still in holiday mode. So set-up crew only had to put out 5 sections of risers.
There was a good bit of business on the sidelines – White House Ornament money turned in, Jack Cameron selling tickets for the Presidents’ Banquet on Jan. 17th. (Table reservations will be done next week.)
Then it was long session of hard work on songs for the Goodwin House show on Jan. 3rd. Show is at 7 and chorus call is 6 pm. AND everyone is invited to Jack Pitzer’s home after the show for the HEAT GLO. Bring some goodies to share. Address is 7801 Suffolk Ct., Alexandria, VA 22315 in case you need to do a MapQuest. It is very close to Hayfield Hi School. His cell is 703-627-9424. Spouses or partners welcome.
Announcements by Bob Rhome:
1. Beer Blast in Dundalk on Mon. was fun as reported by guys who attended. Sam McFarland was back to Alex now and he and Harner and others gave news from that party.
2. Bob plugged the need for more to sign up for the Goodwin House show.
3. He alerted all to the need to get your housing or tickets for Anaheim.
4. There will not be a Harmonizer meeting on Jan. 20th.
5. There will be a recording session on Jan. 27th – watch for details and location.
Director Joe thanked Bob Rhome for his dedication to detail as Ops guy for the chapter!!
Anyone who wants a couple Harmonizer calling cards to give to prospective members when you meet them should get a supply from Scipio Garling.
Also if you want a 2009 Harmonizer color photo calendar which includes our chapter events, see Scipio for that too. $20 ea.
Roger Day introduced some guests – his last time at bat on this job too. Thanks Roger.
After break, back to hard work on music. Terry, Mike K and Will worked as directors and Joe as coach.
After 50/50 drawing, we packed the truck and headed out. Until next time – editorjack!
