Looking Back on the Southern
Division Contest in Roanoke May 30-31, 2014
YeEd got late break news from Roanoke this evening – great stuff –
before we all head to France.
The first place quartet at
Southern Division was THE MONORAIL FOUR with Kellen
Hertz, Phil Ferguson, Bobby Seay VI, Andrew Havens. This continues a tradition that at least
one Harmonizer was in a quartet that won
the contest every year since 2001! Congrats guys.
Second place was also a
quartet with a Harmonizer - FORECAST
with Mike Fitch, Ian Galvin, Travis Murray, Dan Cook. (Dan
actually lives below Richmond and formerly sang with the Ambassadors of
Harmony before he married Erin Odell.)
Third place was another quartet with one
of our guys - YOUTH RECLAMATION
PROJECT with Mike Wallen, Roger Tarpey, Hardman Jones, Vic Owen Jr. YRP will
represent the Mid-Atlantic District at the International Seniors Quartet
Contest next January.
The district will announce later which quartets will be singing at
the fall contest in Wildwood.
The chorus contest is Saturday and many of our neighboring
chapters are competing. You can see results at midatlanticdistrict.com then
click on Upcoming Events, then Conventions, then Southern Division, then
convention results.
Until next time –
editorjack!
(This message is
prepared for your review if you were there, for your information if you had to
miss, and as a historical record of the great things going on each week during
the 66th year of the Alexandria Harmonizer Chapter. —YeEd.)
